Happened to me,only minor bump though, I went to report it to the police station after the other driver pissed off and I was issued a producer! Make sure your girlfriend takes her docs. bet other drivers got no insurance ,licence,banned etc, good luck with getting it resolved mate

I'll add something my dad told me after my one and only accident a few years back.

get your phone and start recording as soon as you get out of the car. Make sure you film the position you stopped in, damage to both cars, registrations of both vehicles, the driver and any passengers.

with all that on tape it's stops fake whiplash claims (you have video evidence of any and all passengers) proves who the driver is and if they do drive off you have the car and reg on film, plus you capture all conversation between the 2 involved cars.
