Wiper Arms: Is this normal?

My wiper arms had to be removed yesterday, and following a reinstallation, they were not reaching the edge of the window...

I've tried raising them, so they do, but now they look a little high:



I'm not sure they're on the correct side?

Help! What's wrong with this picture?

PS. I did look at other cars in other threads, and they're certainly higher than most others. Is this a resulf of them being on the wrong side?

driver side is abit high, it should below on the black line.

yes!

long = drivers side
short = passenger side

Cheers man. Just been for a drive and used them a bit. They seem to have settled into place now and look normal.

It is possibly that the mechanism needs greasing up and freeing off, otherwise they may be slower than usual and have restricted travel; do they go properly fast on the fastest setting? If not then it needs work.
