Whats your Job?

Bit of a beast! He said something about a guy being fired last year for messing something up. There was no air supply to the pilots and by the time they realised the pilots were dead it was too late and the plane ran out of fuel and everyone on board died. Sound familiar, or was he regurgitating some old myth?

Erm, cant say ive heard of that...ill do some digging.

You'll be amazed how many crash...and disappear without any media coverage!

I currently work in IT (surprising to see loads of people in IT chatting on a forum lol). I work as an Incident Manager but have applied to be a rotary aircraft pilot in the royal navy. Next stage is the medical, wish me luck

May aswell update this as I started the thread.

No longer a desk junky. Finally back out on site, now working as a Rail Surveyor.

Work in Logistics (office based) for a freight forwarding company that does cargo (containers/ airfreights etc) to and from central/southern Africa (Mainly Zambia as that is where all the copper is).

A perk is during April this year my MD took me to Johannesburg, Victoria Falls and Zambia to meet clients - all expenses paid

I've been within the railway for a little over 22 years now.
18 yrs, outside on the ground as a Technical Officer, our department looks after new projects while designing, installing and commissioning in to use new signalling systems all over the country... And beyond on occasions.
The following/last 4 years I've been more office based due to a few health issues, covering plant and resource management, and occasional site management on commissioning stages of bigger projects, and now moving slightly into helping with new project bid tenders.

I just want to last another 11 yrs and then I'll be taking early retirement

Was a pilot, but the hours have been reducing to nothing lately... Requiring me to take up a job in TK Maxx as an associate. Not quite as interesting but certainly not an awful job!

Ive always been interested in horse racing so I have a Raceday-only job at Newmarket racecourse, too.
