So feeding a ipod Aux cable through here might not be the best idea then?

Wouldn't be an issue at all, or even the hole in the part that pops off for the OBDII connection, that has a hole in it.

sorry to go off topic, what is the small cirlce (1 pound coin size) to the right of the red drawn circle used for on the centre console.

Thinking of passing an ipod cable through it and leave the ipod in the cup holder????

It's for putting your finger through to pull off the cover on the OBDII port.
