Well I changed the steering wheel today!

The job took me about 45 minutes after disconnecting the battery for half an hour.

Im glad I had the benefit of the forum before tackling it but to be honest it wasnt that difficult once you appreciate how the airbag unit is attached to the wheel and the clip arrangement.

Without doubt it makes it far easier if you remove the plastic shroud trim around the top and bottom of the column. This allows you once you have turned the wheel upside down to view the clip through the hole in the back of the wheel centre using a small mirror.

If you try and do it without removing the steering trims you really are doing it blind, you could be fiddling about for ages.

The new wheel is a massive improvement, it is a genuine Renault but seems a bit improvement and different material to original, it also came with the RS badge on the bottom spoke which looks great.

Not seen that one?

I didnt take any as there seems to be plenty on here of the steering wheel removal process. I used them to help me along the way

I meant pics of the steering wheel mate. I haven't seen a steering wheel with RS badge. Do you mean the grey Renault Sport insert?

Sorry guys, Ive probably not been very clear in my posting. The badge is the Renault Sport one which clips around the base of the bottom spoke. The wheel itself is exactly the same design as the old one i.e part solid "leather" part perforated. It is slightly more grey than my old one which was black really and the covering material whether it be leather or not certainly looks more like leather.
When it fines up I will take a pic

Thread hijack ;-) - anyone know if the 197/200 cup steering wheel (without cruise) is the same fatness and comfort in the hand as the non-cup/ff ?
