In the muddle of doing. soil change and filter I bought a filter tool from halfords which are like big pliers but I can't seem to get it off I've even tried the screwdriver trick because I'm so pissed of but that hasn't worked! Which way should I access it from the top or the bottom and is there anything I can remove for easy access need to no asap cheers guys!

It's easier underneath to be honest. Screwdriver trick as in hammer it through an just unscrew using the screwdriver as a handle? "Should" come off easy that way.

Hammer sideway and pull up or down depending if your working from above or bellow.
Longer the screwdriver the easier it is, as you can leave more sticking out to get more leverage.

Finally done it mate cheers in the end used these grips had to squeeze them until it squished the filter and just pull and pull till it budged it was a tight one thank god its done now!
