ive just attempted to do my bonnet with a das 6 DA and flexipads orange compound waffle pad using meguiars ultimate compound and it is very tough to remove the swirls and small scratches in the paint I used the same set up on my focus st3 in panther black and it came up a treat but the clio paint work is so hard any suggestions on better pads etc also it is a very hot sunny day which I suppose isn’t helping I put the front end of the car in the shade But it’s not working the marks out very well

I've heard menzerna is very good. They've got a 400 which is a heavy cut compound. Mine also needs doing so I think I'll be buying some of that

I also used menzerna on mine, 400 will probably need refining afterwards though, you could get away with 2200 “maybe” without refining but I used 3500 afterwards, mixture of hex logic pads.

If you look on cleanyourecar they may still do the menzerna sample pack where you get 4 samples from 400 up to the 3800 finishing polish, more than enough to do a few cars. Also if you didn’t do it first time round, try doing as much decontamination as you can beforehand, tar remover, fallout remover and clay bar, all the bilt hamber stuff is good and the clay can be used with water to keep costs down! Again I’m no pro but you can’t really go wrong from there!

Ahh good stuff bud I’ll have a look and I Clayed the car about a month ago but run out of clay lube so didn’t give it a great going over I have a lot of spray detailer spare I may give it a go over with the clay and use the detailer as a lube before I try again

Well hit the car with a vertool buffer today gave it two passes over the whole car with a rough compound pad using g3 compound C654B6B9-0E75-473A-8089-BD92F7DD303B.jpeg

Then wiped clean and went over it with another two passes with a medium grade pad using meguiars ultimate compound
Then gave it a quick once over with dodo juice lime prime on a finishing pad then wiped clean again and went over it all again with a sealer and after a 10 hour battle I’m more than happy with the out come and hoping to not have to do it again for a very long time 90% of fine scratches and swirls are gone and under the sun light no marks are visible 76196C22-FD69-4440-8FFE-FE7463A24DF5.jpeg

That looks great. Just picked one of these up myself, looks almost identical.

What do you do with the stickers? Just polish around them? Or over them?
