Hi!
I’m not technically a new member as I’ve been lurking on here since I set my heart on getting a RS Clio in early 2017 and this is not my first post but I thought it was time to say hello.
I’ve included some pics of my Clio, as I know you all like to see them, and a couple of my old Nissan s14a 200sx which was my last ‘sporty’ car. The 200 had to make way for a family car; an 330d e46 and then eventually an Audi 2.0tfsi A5 Sportback (remapped of course!).
The Clio was new territory for me being NA / front wheel drive but it was just what I was after to scratch that itch! I also considered Civic Type R’s...
I’m so glad I took the plunge. The Clio is so much fun, while not being the fastest thing it’s very evolving and entertaining. I plan to get it on a track this year (I'm very close to Cadwell and Blyton) as I’ve never done a proper track day, so I’ll be tapping in to the knowledge on here.
Since owning the Clio, which was pretty standard apart from braided lines and H&R springs, I’ve had the cam belt done and the wheels refurbished.
I’ve also installed new front discs and pads, Powerflex gearbox, dog bone and top engine mounts, replaced drop links, tie rods and front suspension top mounts. I’ve replaced the gearbox oil, fully serviced it, replaced the piston seals in the rear brake calipers, replaced the handbrake cables... and in spite of that lot , I still love it!!!
I’ve just purchased a 2nd hand Scorpion exhaust from here and also a subframe to lower the drivers side Recaro.
Anyway, nice to be here,
Clint.
