Their 330mm brake upgrade is on the cards too.

What's clearance like with the Speedlines on the 330mm discs, do you know? Will I need to get the wheel weights moved?

Car is looking REALLY good mate. LOVE the red belts, didn't think I would but bloody hell I do!
Super jealous of the plans for a new man cave too. Living in London there is simply zero option for such things.

Ha, thanks mate. My mate lives in London (Angel) so I know exactly what you mean re space for car things. I couldn't cope.
I've thought about different colours for the callipers but I really like how they match the car.

Angel is a nice part of town to live. Plenty to do there. And the Craft Beer Co just up the road from the station is one of the best pubs in London in my opinion. Elk in the Woods is a fantastic restaurant too. If he doesn't know either he should!

Wheel weights will have to be moved to the inner side of the rim. Come and have a look at mine at some point when you like.

Update time: My new Sparco subframes came to replace the terrible OMP ones that I originally ordered. If you're looking for Mk3 frames, avoid them like the plague; they barely fit.
I offered up the Sparcos and they lined right up, then chucked the sidemounts on and had the first drive in nearly two months. The driving position and bucket completely changed how the car feels, it's like a big kart now. Love it.
I only went to get fuel and for a few quick pictures but all seems well. No airbag lights, no seat belt beep. All good.
The only negative is that the sidemounts I've borrowed from a mate are universal, so they're fixed with no runners and the driving position is a lot further back than I'm used to. I normally like to sit fairly close so I can wrist the top of the wheel, Ragnotti style, but there's no chance of that. It'll do the job until my seats arrive though!

I've also sourced some red seatbelts from a lad on RS197.200, so they'll be in the post this week! Chuffed with that! They'll really finish off the interior IMO. This but with red belts.
Does he have some more, I'm looking for the read seatbelts too (from Polo GTI to be precise, they're black with red stitching).

Had the whole weekend free (Mrs was away with friends) so I did a lot of driving to make up for the 8 weeks of not driving. Headed over to Rivington on Saturday/Sunday and then ended up in Macclesfield on Monday, so had a few runs up the Cat & Fiddle road. The car's totally transformed since I last drove it, the Pole Position totally transforms how committed you can be on a hard drive, also makes pedal work so much easier being lower in the car.
The AD08Rs work really well in the warm weather and I definitely notice the weight I've removed too. I had the car weighed on the Saturday and it came in at 1138kg, with no driver but 1/4 tank of fuel. That's about 66kg saved over standard, but with just the one seat. My goal is sub-1100kg with two seats and all interior trim as it is now... it's a lofty target but I have a rear wiper delete, V6 Airbox, dry cell battery and plans to remove the tar/hidden insulation etc, so it's doable.
As long as it doesn't turn into a rattlebox too much, I'm happy losing the insulation. It's mainly a road car after all.
The next item on the agenda is to book track time & start planning the trip back to the Ring in August/September. Even if it's just for the weekend, I'm set on heading back this year.

Amazing what a difference proper seats make huh?
Regarding the weight saving, you could lose a good chunk swapping to some lighter wheels and the feeling you get from it is SO worth the effort.
As for the Cat & Fiddle, it's fantastic, but totally ruined now due to the limits and cameras. The road from Buxton to Whaley Bridge is worth a go too if you've not done that.

Cheers, I think they're my favourite mod and I wasn't even going to get them, I just chanced on them on a Facebook group!
Re wheels, I think that'll be further down the line for sure. I want to install the parts that I've already bought and see how close this gets me, along with the tar/insulation removal. I'd either go for ATS DTC's or Braid Fullrace A's, then keep the Speedlines for a spare set.
You can still have a lot of fun within the limit on C&F but I know the WB route too, I've got friends who live in WB so I've done that a few times, it's a great run!

Used to be my run to work when I worked in Buxton. Would arrive in work with my eyes on stalks every day!
Some good fun to be had in Goyt Valley too, I'm sure you've done those as well right? Bit tight, but at night you can see if anything is coming. Pretty sketchy in the day though!
Oh and good choice on the wheels. Both would look great. The ATS especially, could definitely see those on your car in black. Gorgeous.

As for Goyt Valley, it's well worth a go. The roads are single width in places but most of it's fun. Glorious scenery too.

It's getting there.My rear wiper delete arrived today so that's tonight's job. From now on I'm going to weigh everything coming off the car and then I'll verify with another weigh-in once it's all done.
Agreed about the wheels, it's down to three. ATS DTC, Braid Fullrace A or OZ Ultraleggera. All 17x8. All sub-10kg rims too.
Do you know if the Cup foglight blanks are just the small round part, or do you need the full panel?
