Ultra Red Clio 200: Project Clubsport

Thanks mate  It's getting there.

My rear wiper delete arrived today so that's tonight's job. From now on I'm going to weigh everything coming off the car and then I'll verify with another weigh-in once it's all done.

Agreed about the wheels, it's down to three. ATS DTC, Braid Fullrace A or OZ Ultraleggera. All 17x8. All sub-10kg rims too.

Do you know if the Cup foglight blanks are just the small round part, or do you need the full panel?

Wipers a good little saver, not sure if its down to being a cup but mine had no sound deadening in the boot panel and barley any on the boot floor.

How much roughly are stock speedlines then ? As a guide the 18x10s I run on my M3 are only 9kg, mated with a full slick (lighter than road tyres) and can really notice it.

The foglight blank on the cup from what I've noticed is built into the grill. Haven't look any closer to if you can just buy the sides grills, or if it goes all the way along. Will take a look later

If you could that would be useful to know mate, cheers! I think the 17x7.5 Speedlines are around 12kg?

Cheers Shuv

Ultraleggeras really are! 7.7kgs in my size. :|

Attended an EVO Triangle run at the weekend with a few other Mk3 RS' and a rogue 991 C4S. The car was amazing all day and the weather was perfect for a blast.
On roads like that, you remember how much fun your car is.

I also had an update from Corbeau today and my seats will be delivered next week... three months after ordering. :tired: I've also bought an X85 Cup Racer airbox, but need to buy a decent dry-cell battery in order to fit it. That'll be my next job for the quest for sub-1100kg.

My current sidemounts sit rather low. :tearsofjoy:

Looks like a fun weekend. Evo triangle has some made bends when taken at speeds!

If you can see over the steering wheel and still use all the controls then your seats not too low. Closes you ass is to the chassis the better.

Exactly. It's perfect at the height it is now, it just looks weird from the front. I'll be fitting the passenger side on runners but I'm keeping the driver's seat fixed.

All other mods are now on the back burner. I've found out that you can install a CAE shifter with only minor trimming to the plastics.
Once the service is out of the way, this'll be the next purchase. I know they're expensive and I was always put off by the fact you had to bin all the trim, but now I know that it's possible I'm up for it. They're absolute art.

I totally get why you would want to keep the trim but it feels such a waste to hide it away.

Its when you see a fabulous pair of hooters but the owner selfishly covered them when she chose some criminal high necked shirt to wear in the morning. Think of the joy it would bring to your own and other peoples day to see it before you cover it.

Sharing is caring.

Can't you get a carbon cover that still shows it off like in the 250's ?

Nothing that's available off the shelf, unfortunately. The Megane has the benefit of the CAE fitting within the shroud, so the trim just covers the ugly plastic part and still leaves the mech on show. The Clio's trim is a lot lower so the whole mech and base is on show.

Thinking a bit out of the box, how about removing the factory trim completely and replacing it with some stainless or ali sheeting bent to fit around the central tunnel (you could even dip or paint it to suit the interior) that way you could have the shifter exposed if you wished and still keep the interior looking tidy.
