Ultra Red Clio 200: Project Clubsport

Scoff at EFI Parts can map these cars too mate. He's up in Runcorn. He mapped my 230bhp cup, and he will also be mapping the 200. Is he any good? Do bears shit in the woods? Lol!
Doesn't he himself have a 200?

Interesting!

Better than Paul?
I've only had experience of scoff mate, so I can't draw any comparisons in that respect, but my cup was the 2nd car to be mapped on a gen90 with full vvt control, but it was a first for scoff. He did a fucking awesome job on the car and I cannot speak highly enough about him and his abilities. He's cheaper than RST too...

I'm not sure tbh mate. I've been in touch with him about mapping mine with some R3 bits, and he never mentioned it.

Very interesting mate. I'll have a good poke around and see how it looks.

Not fussed if it's cheaper, just want the best, you know?

Taa for the info mate. Will do some checking.

Just one thing to be aware - he's an email only man! If you ring him to have a chat, it won't happen. He's just that busy! However, he responds to emails usually within 24hrs, and answers any questions/queries you have. Usually in great detail too!

I'm going to stick my neck out and say he's definitely one of the best mate. He's also a nice bloke too.

I've had stuff mapped by some of the best guys in the business (the late, great Ahmed Bayjoo being one of them), and scoff is 100% up there in terms of mapping abilities.

I've been on the rollers at EFI but haven't had any mapping done there. I know a lot of people that have though! All positive.

Mine made 194 on their rollers too, so it's already fairly healthy.

Mine will be on the rollers with Chris at EFI on the 22nd at 12pm. He has mapped all of my friends cars pretty much and know's the Clio's inside and out. I'll report back more closer to the time in my own build thread!

Decent sized update this weekend, finally! My retrimmed parts arrived from Jack at Royal on Friday, so after work I cracked on with installing them. Everything went back together really easily aside from the gaiter. The OE gaiter is stables to the (very flimsy) silver plastic surround which comes away from the shroud, so it's quite a time consuming process to unpick all the staples carefully and then re-staple the new boot to it.

Considering it's only a small touch, the Alcantara parts make such a huge difference to how the interior feels to sit in (on the floor with no seats. Lol) and really makes it feel special. The Alcantara pillars that I wrapped last week are also a pretty good match, so it all looks really tidy IMO. I also fitted my new Ultra Racing rear brace, which I had painted satin black. I wasn't a fan of the white or the previous red that I had done, so black was the option I went with. So much cleaner looking.

Since my seats were delayed another four weeks, I was itching to drive the car again and borrowed a friend's Pole Position on Saturday. Unfortunately the seat mounting don't line up 100% so I didn't feel safe taking it for a drive, but it did give me a good idea of how the finished product will look. Bear in mind that this is with the PP sat on the floorpan, so the seat height look very low, but you get the idea! Literally can't wait to get the Clubsports in and go for a drive now...

...and yes, I trimmed the furry edges to my seat belts after these pics. OCD. :relaxed:

Ahmed Bayjoo, that's a name I've not heard in many years. He did my Escort.

Some good info there mate thanks a lot. Definitely looking at the options.

Look forward to seeing the results and hearing your thoughts Tom. Will keep an eye out for your posts. Thanks mate.

Wow Christopher, it's relentless!

That PP looks bloody good in there. At least you have a flavour of what to expect when you get yours in!

That will look great, exactly what springs to mind if I think Clubsport 200 :sunglasses:

Thanks! That's what I'm going for.

I didn't mention my f*ck up in the post above either...

I ordered OMP subframes which I knew were the lower of the two options (Sparco being the other) but I like to sit low in the car anyway. Anyway, I test fitted them this weekend and they're about an inch from the floor. :tearsofjoy: Being 5'7" this isn't going to work.

Called GSM Performance this morning who were equally amused by it all and we've agreed an exchange on a set of Sparco subframes. They're pretty much the same cost anyway. Ah well, lesson learned.
