Tyre size on stock wheels

HI guys

Does anyone know if 205/40/17 tyres would fit a 197 rim?
The stock multi spoke rim

Yeah but they are tight!! My mate put some on the front of his 200.

Tight as in rubbish!!! Keep with the standard size would be my advice. They work well.

I don't think they would improve the handling. Would of come standard on such a car otherwise I'd of thought?

Wont be unsafe, will probably feel a bit more precise. But more bumpy, would image that why renault use 215 45. Ive found 225's feel a lot more spongy on standard wheels compared to 215's. 205 will be fine. Basically the same as me using 215's on my ultraleggra'a which are 8j.
