Two Piece Brake Discs

Dot5.1 fluid is fine, it's the dot5 that's bad for the car. Only real problem with dot5.1 is that you need to change it yearly instead of 4 yearly.

in a nutshell dot 5 is silcone based

all the others are fine in brake systems

dry and wet boiling points

DOT 3 205 °C (401 °F) 140 °C (284 °F)
DOT 4 230 °C (446 °F) 155 °C (311 °F)
DOT 5 260 °C (500 °F) 180 °C (356 °F)
DOT 5.1 270 °C (518 °F) 190 °C (374 °F)

Take the ratings with a pinch of salt though, plenty of dot4 fluids that exceed the temperature rating of dot5.1 fluid

Those dbp a wbp figures can change dramatically innthe quality of fluid though cant they si? I put dot 4 castrol srf in my last change and it out performs any dot 5.1 by a long way. Dbp of nearly 600 dc
