Tractor Boy

Mes' thread is definitely being hijacked! I know it's the way "conversations" go, but maybe we should let him have his thread back.

Seems like the dream!! Que sera, sera as it is said...cheers Mes!

On the look out for a cheap old man's Volvo or something similar to eat up the mileage. I think driving the Clio there daily will ruin me. Literally AND in monetary terms. :tearsofjoy:

Yes but a daily would keep the miles off the Clio and open up a world of possibilities mate. Grab a shitter, run it until it's dead. Grab another...

Having had a daily myself, it's more affordable than you think. As long as you can afford the insurance and tax and stuff. If you buy something old enough to be classified as a classic, it costs bugger all (in comparison) to insure.

That's why I'm thinking about some sort of estate big enough to tow the Clio. Could theoretically take it off the road. But not sure if I'd want to go that far, I thoroughly enjoy spirited B-road blasts as much as the next person. Would be a lot of money sat around to be driven 5-10 times a year in circles.....

aaaaanyway, Vive le Tractor. Back on topic.

Good luck on the interview Ben... you not fancy moving nearer?

Don't fancy putting all my eggs in one basket and moving completely. House share is on the cards potentially, would give me the option to come home at weekends etc, would certainly be easier on the fuel bill.

Everyone will think you're driving your dad's car Ben!

Going for a management role, think I'll need a dad's car to get taken seriously!!!! Jag XF S would be lovely....

I'd be like you mate. I'd miss the B-road drives too much. FAR too much.

Took TB to Wales for a run around the incredible roads in Snowdonia. Car performed so VERY well. The combo of the KTR induction and the Akrapovic exhaust rattling off the valleys at 7k rpm was really something. Possibly the most fun I've had driving this wonderful little car. Did a few roads further down in the south of the national park that I've never driven before. Enjoyed it SO much. I'll be back for certain.

In other news, material swatches have been chosen for the retrim. Getting closer...

That bottom pic is something else mate....

Did mrs M get to have a drive:grinning:

Thanks a lot Ben, and yes she did mate. She started to feel a bit under the weather towards the end so I took over all the driving duties but the bits she did before that, she thoroughly enjoyed.

I've family that live on Anglesey and I absolutely cant wait to visit them in the Clio now,

That bottom photo is :thumb:

Thanks a lot mate.

Seriously, you'll LOVE the drive over there. I'd suggest allow a full extra day to drive around Snowdonia if you go and visit.

Happy to advise on the best roads out there if you do, just give me a PM. :thumb:

Only 345 mate, 400 would be LOVELY!

Doesn't for one minute mean I don't absolutely LOVE this car. If only it had more communicative steering, that's all it needs.

...ok, another 50 horses too. That would be perfect.

As for other Clios, we were followed for a bit by a VERY nice looking RB 182 with black everything and a cage I think. We pulled into a car park and he blasted off down the hill, sounded awesome.

And we saw a very nice Megane 265.

But what would have been better is a train of 197.net Clios...
