Thanks mate. Well there is a slight scupper to my plans, the R3 Maxi hose from the TB to the V6 air box is on back order from France so I can't wait unfortunately for it to come through as I am in Rockingham for a sprint on the 26th so I've refitted the k-tec induction for now. To be fair it's not a bad piece of kit but I would opt for a closed airbox over it. In terms of the battery I have a Powervamp item which is the same size as a Odyssey 680. They are excellent batteries. For now I'm going to install on its flat where the original battery box was. When I get the other airbox set up fitted I'll relocate under the seat with Anderson connectors.

Nice work on the track vids. Great to see you chasing down much more expensive machinery. You carry so much speed through the corners. Did i see quite a bit of short shifting also? I assume slippery in places?

Quite slippy in places mate, especially earlier on in the day. I've got other videos to post shortly with just one up, quicker than that video! Generally if i can I'll change just before she bounces of the limiter.

Couple of updates from yesterday. New race battery mounting tray fitted.

maybe one word of caution with this installation, I would stick some insulation rubber against the air filter shield plate around the +ve terminal. Something I found when I did this a while ago, reduces any mishap of a socket/allen key on the terminal bolt striking the air filter plate!

Thanks mate. Already considered that. There is sufficient space between both and I've added some rubber material. It's only a temporary measure while I wait for the R3 hose to arrive then the battery will go indoors.

Any thoughts on the Direzza 03G's? Do they run ok in the cold/wet? I will be needing some new tires soon. I don't have spare wheels though so need something that will work all year.

I've run on all sorts over the years and they are exceptional in cold and wet conditions. Obviously if you're going through giant puddles at speed then any tyre would cause you a problem but they are one of the best tyres I've ever run on. They're more expensive than most but there's a good reason for that. R888r are very good but not so good, A048s are very good but not as good. In my opinion they are currently the best trackday tyre out there for the Clio. They are also a list 1B tyre so are allowed for competition use.

Unfortunately I'm required to refit my rear seats to meet the competition regs but that doesn't mean to say I can't make them a little lighter!



I've stripped out the rear back rest steel frame and it's real heavy. The seats weigh a fraction of what they did. The base cushions have had the steel frame removed too. I can refit these with hidden cable ties now. So despite having to refit them they don't weigh too much anymore.

Yes car was superb despite some electrical gremlins throughout the day. I made the sunstrip myself.
