Throttle Pedal Potentiometer Bank 2 Reading Help

Untitled.png

As can be seen in the attached (bottom left section), with my foot fully down, track 1 is reading 89.15% throttle, track 2 is reading 44.57%. My understanding is that the pedal sensor has two sensors and that they should either be nearly matching or opposite (one goes up while one goes down), in this situation it seems like track 2 has a bad connection / is failing.

If anyone who is familiar with this could help would be much appreciated.

(engine is off, hence the 6.15% throttle body position)

The voltage of each potentiometer should increase together, one just starts at a higher voltage than the other.

What issue are you having?

When data logging with Torque I saw the throttle body sensor was only reaching ~89%. At first I just thought it could be fully open and the ECU has learnt the limit. But now I'm seeing the pedal only ever reads 89% when fully depressed I'm wondering if I'm losing out on 10% of the throttle at WOT. There isn't any symptoms but it's like been like this since I got the car so I don't have any baseline to compare to.

Hmm, you could try looking at the same data with another logging tool to see if it’s the same.

Failing that, maybe physically look at the throttle body whilst the pedal is pressed to see if it’s fully opened.

I think the best thing to do since I've cleaned / fixed a lot of components is to reset the learned values and see if that makes a change. Just can't do it right now cause my current ELM327 can't hack it. Unless it's because I'm doing something wrong. Any ideas on why the ECM module would respond with a "0x22 - ConditionsNotCorrect" error? I tried a few of the service modes, with engine on and off, but still no luck.

I don’t think the 89% max is an issue as it’s learnt the high stop is at 89% of the full travel (0-5v) From memory mine was 87% however the 44% is odd, does this jump around if you move the connector by the pedals? I had to replace the connector and contacts as I was getting an error code.

The second signal voltage should be half the first, so if its reading each signal separately 88% for the first and 44% for the second would make sense.

the throttle pedal will have 2 tracks - one that goes up in "voltage" the other goes down.....like most throttle bodies

have you checked its fully opening when its on (removed the inlet pipe to look)

what about getting it to re-learn the throttle... failing that does anyone else have some throttle info tried phoning an ecu tuning company?
