Things I don't like

Aww mate!

I was there last week, worked sunday and my next day off wasn't until today. Well worth the wait though!

Roll on christmas

My next day off also happens to be my 21st birthday...still haven't planned anything!:tearsofjoy:

Tropical!

Marine far too much effort. Have looked into it.

Setup fees are also very costly!

Very nice

You’re ight. Marine is a lifestyle. Even on a small scale. In some ways keeping a Nano-tank in salt (with evaporation and keeping on eye on salt levels) is more time consuming than with a larger tank. The time / commitment in maintaining water quality: especially if keeping a true reef with Corals is huge.

Electric bills for powerful lights, skimmers, moon-lights, filtration etc needed aren’t to be sniffed at either. That’s after set-up live-rock etc as you say.

They are however the most visually amazing slices of life you can own.....

Yeah and having to buy RO water, lots of chemicals. The testing kits are also ridiculously expensive - which are of course a must. Not to mention the actual fish themselves, and don't even get me started on some of the corals, JESUS!!!

But yeah they are absolutely fabulous, my mate had a little 40 litre one and I had to look after it for a week. He had some sort of coral which had to have a particular amount of water shooting at it from the filter or it would whither (to mimic the sea...), so that needed fine adjustment on a regular basis, and like you said, evaporation was a problem with that tank so I was constantly topping it up...

You have a tank Shuv?

Right you aint ever coming round mine.

Will turn around and my angel fish will be being dipped into flour and milk!

Do Angel fish taste like angel cake???

Only kidding, wouldn't mind a tank of my own when I'm settled in a house etc, something very soothing and peaceful watching fish swim round a tank for a while...

Sounds like you've done your homework !

Im a huge Marine fan. I've had 4 tanks....always sell-up after thinking it takes up too much of my time. Only to start again ! I've been thinking again for quite a while now. Surprise-surprise.

Beautiful mate!

Yeah theres not a chance I could have the time for one - as much as id love one.

I know im one of the older guys here; and not as open-minded as you whipper-snappers: But you batter your slice in public on a night out ?

Anywhere dark and secluded seems to be the norm for most young people nowadays...:tearsofjoy:
