paint was... 2 layers of primer.. blocked and flatted after each layer, then base coat (which was 4 different blacks and a silver) and few layers of clear coat, all done by a friend as a favour

they do look good, i've had a fairly serious kerbing incident and was considering having mine done black instead of just repairing them and after seeing that im really keen on it now, prefer the red dustcaps aswell
