SRS fault help!

hi all, just a question for the electricaly minded people . basicly i have a clio 197 cup on a 57 plate and its been in an accident and the airbags were deployed. Airbags have been replaced and all cosmetics done. But the airbag light is still on due to a permanant stored fault (the crash code). I was woundering if there was anybody who knew for certain if i could replace the SRS module with a used one to cure this fault? or does it have to be a £600+VAT new one lol.
Thanks

Can you not just delete the fault code from the memory? From experience no fault codes are permenant, you just need the right software.

i havent tryed yet, i have renault clip at work which is dealer equiverlant i think. but i kno that with bmw and vw audi group cars this is a tricky thing to do as the fault can be stored in anumber of controll units and as far as im aware the code is permanant untill the module is replaced. dont mind using a used one at around 60 pounds but i really dont wanna fork out 600 unless its the only way.

2ways of doing it 1st is yes to replace the unit and it will solve it as the airbag module will store the fault or you can have the crash data wiped on your unit which is a lot cheaper I've replaced a few now and it's never been anywhere near £600, and on the clio the airbag crash data is only stored in the airbag modules

air bag system the control module will have to be changed...

worth a try with a second hand one but not sure if they are coded to the car/system

They store the chassis number in the unit so might not accept it but never tried
