Spoiler recall

I've received a letter from Renault this week for a recall on the rear spoiler because they've found that a number have fallen off(!) or may become detached. I was wondering if anyone else has received the same letter or had their spoiler fall off (or know of anyone else's).

Hopefully this his isn't a sign of the legendary Renault build quality returning!

got letter aswell, just waiting on my service place to get the parts in before they book a date.
Seems they want to be sure they have everything in, if they need to fix it.

Be prepared for a wait, as it takes 2 hours for the adhesive to set and yours will need doing  you will get a free health check and a dirty sponge on your bonnet by the afghan :worried: for your time. You csn thrn sit and watch 10 people in a Renault showroom all doing nothing until you get your key card back.

Had to smile when I read that. Sounds pretty much like our local Renault dealer. You can wander round for ages and no one comes up to you. Far to busy playing Candy Crush, or chatting the receptionist up (I speak from experience here). Now there was me thinking they were there to sell cars :whatever:

Had mine in yesterday in Leeds. They said they couldn't replace it as the would need to order the spoiler and have it sprayed. Apparently they can't do it so are now sending me to Wakefield. Nice waste of a morning, 10 quid in taxi fares just to be sent packing to a body shop 20 miles away. The sooner they get a new dealer in Leeds the better absolutely terrible service time and time again

which garage in Leeds Bristol street or Evans Halshaw?

I noticed they've popped up behind the old BWM showroom! But can understand your pain!

Took mine into Smiths in Peterborough last Wednesday. Free Megane curtesy car. Kept in overnight due to ordering the bolts. Called at 9:00am Thursday morning to say car was ready to pick up. Job all done. Top service every time with no issues with the Customer services staff.

So you took (And booked) a car in to have the spoiler bolts replaced (?), and the bolts were out of stock.....

Sounds perfectly French to me !!

I tried booking in at Bristol Street Leeds but was told there was no collection/delivery service available and courtesy cars weren't an option under recall conditions. How very convenient.
We don't have great transport links from where I live and am Just too busy to be able to take half a day off to get it sorted. Unless I can combine it with its first service I think I'll just have to hope I got a good one from the factory.

Mine went in yesterday, picked it up and what a mess! The glue they use is Black. It was smudged all over the inside of the tailgate and the excess had squeezed out on to the edge making it visible from the roof shut line. Why can they never get it right? Absolute clowns.. So obvious on a Yellow car too! Renault should have somebody at the dealership checking the work is up to standard!

Looks like it varies from dealer to dealer. As mine said just the opposite. Not only supplied a courtesy car. But it even had, god forbid, some fuel in it. They also waived the usual £10 charged for insurance. And this was an Arnold Clark dealership!
