Spacers with cup racer wheels...?

Hi all,

Sorry for another wheel question but not much is showing up on the searches.

Anyone on the 8j cup racer alloys running spacers? I've heard I would need to run a slight spacer up front to clear the kw strut however I quite fancy that flush fat look of the 20mm spacers many run here with std wheels.

My guess is perhaps a 16mm would be a good compromise to allow for the slightly wider wheels?

Thanks in advance!

H.

I didnt have to fit a spacer to clear my KW Clubsports when I had the Cup racers fitted.

Imo, they dont need spacers to look good:

Whats the offset on the Cup Racer wheels I suppose should be the first question. 8J means they already 10mm wider than standard wheels, but it depends where that width is (if that makes sense).

either way, 8J wheels on 20mm spacers might be a bit excessive. Personally I wouldn't go over a 10mm spacer with those wheels.

That does look ace Noddie, great colour contrast!

Agreed, 10-15mm would be plenty. As far as I'm aware the cup racer wheels are the same offset as the standard 7.5 speedlines...

Think they're just the same offset as standard, so like you say they're just visually like a 10mm spacer.

^ In that case, anything more than 10/15mm is going to start giving you some poke, if your lowered may give you some clearance issue and will also kick sh*t all over your rear quarters. Best to stick with 10mm Spacers or less IMO.

Great, this clears most things up, ill be running a small spacer just Incase for clearance issues and for cosmetics.

Thanks buddy I'm aware of KW's and their performance etc, I'm an agent for them here in Belfast. Its never going to be raced so I'm more than happy at losing a second or two per lap in return for looks as it will be used on the road occasionally also.

I wouldn't put any spacers on my car and its running 8j wheels.

I think it sits nicely in the arches but I'd also be worried about rubbing.

20mm on my cup's :

They aren't the same offset. My cup racer wheels are 8j

8J is the width buddy. I'm surprised at your pics, I was expecting them to sit out a lot further on 20's!

I've been detailing a bit and take some photos to help in this tread :

Ask me if you need any diferent angle or measurement

Almost looks like one could squeeze on 25's if he so desired!?

Good looking car there Ruilo, you running standard profile tyres?

215/45/17 but next change (comming soon) will be to 225/45/17 because i want to drop the car so low . The 225/45 will make the car 4 mm higher and another 4mm less to drop the car for that extra profile , wich means 8mm more distance from the road than if i where with 215/45.... Will make a diference when getting to the garage and trying to avoid the speedbumps and garage entrance , etc..

I wish im correct with the mats :innocent:
