Snow!!!

Pic of A7 yesterday. My brother in law's car, summer tyres. Totally untreated road for 50+ miles. Today we're driving from Edinburgh to Inverness but we're in my wife's A1 & on winter tyres so hopefully ok.
Got home no bother. Some snow on roads until Perth then black roads for 110 miles to Inverness & no snow here! Hardly anything on the roads so easy driving.

Snow hit my neck of the woods prettty hard today had a little snow here are there yesterday nothing major but today was pretty intense with constant snowfall all day, drive home from work was interesting to say the least the Clio was sliding all over the shop! Had a good one where I needed to make a hard left and she just kept going straight on.

I have drove with summer tyres in snow sometimes, and .. it is not fun. Braking distances are quite mad.
In fact, driving with good (nordic) winter tyres is fun. Grip is good. This morning seems to be sunny again, and nice -27celsius was when i turned key in my winterbeater.
Yesterday was first day of the 2018 when you are allowed to drive with summer tyres here. But we have to wait 1 month minimum because we still have 40cm of snow and really cold weather..
