Slightly porting inlet manifold

Hey all,

Probably been done to death but looking at porting my inlet manifold myself. This wouldn't be extreme porting, not even gasket matching but merely getting rid of overcast. A friend has done it and showed me a photo of how much he has taken off and I intend to do the same. I dont want to lose velocity but merely want to keep laminar flow so my theory was to remove the overcast only. Im not expecting massive improvements but as with these cars every little helps.

Anyone done similar?

When I mean overcast, the photos may show it better.

did it on mine took all the casting excess off & also matched to the gasket as they are miles out...noticed any difference....not really

Thanks for the reply, it seems ro really divide people. Some same its the best thing they have ever done, some say it made no difference whatsoever!
