The cage itself was just under £1200. Obviously there is fitting on top of that unless your doing it yourself. When I look at how this cage sits in the car it's well worth it in my mind from the safety aspect.

Progress is going very slowly at the moment. I got married 5 weeks ago which meant 3 weekends didn't get spent on the car. Follow that with only having limited hours to get the welding done but it's very nearly there now. Can't wait for this to be done then the rebuild can start. Might be ready by Christmas!

Spend a good few hours on the car between evenings and the Bank Holiday. Car is now only a couple of small jobs away from an mot, bleed brakes, connect horn button wiring, fit last few trim items. Nice to have it nearly there though 870c918f718f40b7a955fdfe829b7236.jpg fb0ad8dd46e0e02fa2bc571574ef4a07.jpg 6f92bf2b750c1a268c7e8222e102608b.jpg bf74a0c026c23f4fa1ca7704d7795e23.jpg

Looking good. The red and the white really go well together. Are you not tempted to paint the whole inside properly?

The original plan was to paint the inside but due to it taking so long to get all the cage plates done i kind of lost interest and just wanted it finished. Add the fact that this is very literally being done on my driveway with no shelter i'm probably going to struggle to get it all done to a respectable standard. It can always be done at a later date if i want to but this is far from a show car which i have no intentions of it being.

Been getting it ready for its MOT which is booked for Friday. Just need to re-secure the front bumper properly and it's good to go. Passenger side door card is awful but drivers side has come out perfectly. Just need some pull straps so I can shut the doors from the inside. Thanks to @trackspec197 for the inspiration to use the original switch panel

Mot all went OK last week. Still got a few bits that need finishing and tidying but nice to be putting a few miles back in it. I had forgotten how direct these cars when you turn the wheel and how sharp the brakes were! Trackday booked for the beginning of October at Bedford so something to look forward to there

It's a Javelin day, not been on one of there's before but my brother in law offered to pay for the day in return for doing some laps in the car so I wasn't going to say no!

Yours will not look out of place mate. You’ve done a very good job and chosen some good parts from what I can see. Good to meet other enthusiasts.

As I'm sure other will confirm you definitely would not want to drive one like this daily. I took it to work the other day and it wasn't the most pleasant experience in a shirt and tie!

Got a few thing I'm trying to fit before the trackday next Monday but needed a second harness first. The seat is borrowed from my brother in law but will do for now. My new harnesses I think we're quite cheap but always hard to judge second hand

Didn't get as much done this weekend as I was hoping. However I did get one of the last big jobs done. Its amazing how much air it actually pushes through.

I also finally sorted out my internal extinguisher pull cable.
