Shuv's Racing Blue 200...................

I thought I was the only one who always look back at the car once parked up!!well apparently not :thumb: thats good news, means im not insane and if im,im not the only one
very good write up Syer..glad you have been enjoying your car so much..i was the same..in my nearly 4 years of ownership, not a single part broke on me till i started with the conversion but again,it involved buying lots of second hand parts with limited history if any..
you will be very pleased with the oil too..i have it in mine and im truly impressed..it handles the power very well..
fingers crossed with your seats..these projects take their time-trust me i know :tongueclosed:

You were the very reason i bought the oil after searching on here and reading your 'reviews'.

Thats also means if it all goes tits-up - its your 'fault' too of course.......

Firstly; rather than sprout on about upgrades, money spent, new parts coming or anything else - i'd like to quickly say about the fact that i've had this car around 13 months now. And i still smile [Without fail] every single time i open the garage door. I pretty much glance back at it every time i park up (Especially if i've got "just" the right angle) - and i still enjoy every single mile behind the wheel........

My personal modifications have all worked out great, and the last 11 months the car has been completely faultless and a joy to own. I havn't had so much as a blown bulb. After a pretty bad start ref: sticking brakes, manifold blowing, remap 'issues' etc - finally some cheap, fun motoring !

For me its 'only' a work car - but i think i'd struggle to find anything more fun for the roads i use and the way i drive. One of my better purchases

So.....to try to treat the old girl right and show it some love back (With the forecast this weekend being HOT). I thought what better thing to do than hydrate the little Blue Clio with some fluid:

Then sometime over the weekend i shall be loading up this pair of slightly sorry looking things:

And taking them, 6 square metres of cow, and a pair of these:

To someone like this:

So they end up looking a little more like this:

Cant believe its all taken so long. It must be 3 months ago i started looking for the right pair of Recaro's. Anyway:

GAME ON !

Have a great weekend folks.........
Can't believe it's only been 13months since you burst on the scene...!:grinning:

Will be interesting to see what everyone's cars look/go like in another 13months?!

Have a good un. Don't forget the factor 50:relaxed:

Supposed to be near 30 degrees inland.....that means you !!!

"Only 13 months".....People do say i make time drag

Mine will look exactly the same in 13 months as it does now. I'm over with modifying :sunglasses:

Clamping marks (Last time i looked: a few days ago) were 99% gone on one - and 95% better on the other.

In the end i spent a little while massaging them.....the cow loved it i tell you.......and gently warmed them with a hairdryer after taking advice from a specialist. I'm happy with them

Thanks for the love as always..........

Excellent news, Shuv, really glad the seats are getting so much closer to completion! And 13 months, time definitely does fly! Great to hear you're so happy with Blue Thunder though and everything you've done over the last year or so.

Finally got around to getting someone else to change the engine oil, oil-filter and gearbox oil today. It amazes me that after less than 7k and way less than a year; how much smoother and fresher the gearbox feels with fresh fluid in. I had the same last time and the difference in feel is quite frankly unbelievable. you wouldnt have thought it was the same car. I don't at all think this Fuchs oil is anything 'special'. I just think they like and benefit from regular fresh changes.

£50 for all the the oil and £60 labour to whack it in (Which i thought was a little expensive ?). But it's easier to pay that than it is to get underneath and start swapping broken gearboxes over. So its cheap insurance i guess.......

****And on that point. When you start the car and it goes through the checks on the dash - including saying "Oil level correct"; i'm sure mine had a series of circles underneath that before. Which it doesn't now ????

Does that mean it was essentially the correct level before - but required a top-up. Or something else ?

And after exactly one whole month to the day; and a lot of communication by me (And a lot of faux-pas by them) - Capital Seating have eventually managed to supply me with the Recaro cover i wanted with the logo in the correct position between the harness cut-outs on the CS's.

This will be used during my sometimes dirty working week to protect the new seats that again - are now eventually being worked on as we speak.

Enjoy your weekend folks

Nice maintenance work out the way for another year Shuv. Labour charge is reasonable imo

Seats are getting there slowly...

***while the display shows "oil level correct" press one of the buttons on the end of wiper stalk and it will display the circles
