Shuv's Racing Blue 200...................

Lets go back a few days.

Eibach lowering Springs arrived and i put them in the living room. Wife saw and said "MORE car bits" ! (She dont care a monkeys really).

"Yea" i said jokingly......."I felt my springs are about to snap - so i'm getting some now to prevent a break-down in future"

She just laughed.....

Anyway....onto Eibach Spring and spacer fitting today and i pop over to garage mid-morning to check on progress, see if top mounts etc were all ok and if the springs actually fitted !

"All fine" and i've done one side front and rear he says. "Just one thing though - look at this".....and shows me a broken front spring. Seems doing these now was actually a good idea after all  God knows how long its been like it. I hadnt noticed a thing !!!

I did measure arch gap this morning pre-fitting....but havn't measured tonight as it was too dark etc. But if these gave a 15/20mm then im a China-man. Looks way more than what they were supposed to be - but in a good way thankfully.

Im really happy with the drop, the ride and the stance:

Is this with the stub axle spacer on as well?
It's good that it dosnt feel any diffrent to you which is what your was worried about.
Good job you got some new springs really with on being snapped really like pav said six sence.
They will settle in.

Enjoy mate.

Yea 8mm spacers upfront and 10mm stub-axle spacers at the rear fitted (Each side that is of course).

I couldnt even tell the difference in ride tbh. Slow corners, roundabouts, straight-line or minor bumps-wise. (Soaked up bumps / small pot-holes very well) I've not pushed at all yet.

Snapped spring was a joke / excuse to the wife. Turned out to be real of course. Was right at the bottom so would have been sitting in shock 'cup' and not noticeable at MOT. Might have been like it a while.......

Thanks for the kind words.

****This might give a better idea of the difference to the track width at the rear with stub-axle spacers fitted.

That's a pretty big list Shuv, can't be much left to do!

Calipers i suppose but I know you're capable of doing them yourself.

What about a front splitter? Have you looked into one of those? Can't think of much else:grinning:

Black bullets you thinking ?

What are you 'suggesting' ref the door handles ?

Black with blue 'Renault Sport' writing for the bullets, perhaps carbon with a blue sticker although with your experience of Streamline maybe not... and door handles painted/wrapped black as the silver stands out a bit with the black wheels and black rear quarter stickers.

Looking superb mate. You've done a great job with your car.

If you need a Photoshop with new caliper colour and door handles and bullets in black or whatever, give me a shout. Sometimes can help a lot towards making a decision.

Go orange! Orange and blue look so good together.

As for the door handles and bullets, I think they look good as they are. But if you do them black, you really need black badges all round too.

Then get a carbon roof...

Nice little list there Shuv, an impressive collection of mods! Lovely car mate, one of the nicest on here :thumb:

Bold words my friend. Thankyou. Not sure i'd go that far though Jimmy tbh ! (Theres some serious metal on here.....and some owned by folk who don't 'broadcast' their mods as much as me).

I'll go as far to say it might be one of the most 'sorted'. ie: Renault niggles fixed and quite a few subtle'ish upgrades with no stone unturned in the quest for "doing things the best way possible".

Anyway: for a man supposedly more into bikes - my love for my car is well-known it seems...

Look what i got in the Secret-Santa at work today

Its even the right colour.........Bonus

Thats a proper thoughtful gift!

Not the usual secret santa at work gifts lol!

Well - when the sky is like this in December - you gotta take advantage !! [And this is more about MY process than the products used.....we all have our favourites for each purpose and that is just another huge topic in itself] :

1_zps5ashspwm.jpg

So take one filthy Clio and start off with some cheap shampoo i use on the wheels only:

2_zps4cku4cuz.jpg

And set to work: (And yes it was nearly dark !) lol

3_zpsdivas8m9.jpg

4_zpspbrf5yxc.jpg

Next - Pre-Wash: I'd already given it a jet-wash last night to get rid of the main crud.....so i mixed some All Purpose Cleaner, some snow-foam, a little Citrus wash and a small amount of Shampoo and gave the car thorough once over:

5_zpsn1lirrsy.jpg

6_zpswubh7oot.jpg

7_zpsfgz8n8cz.jpg

Next a little concentrated Shampoo, a detailing brush and a going over for those hard to get to nooks and crannies:

8_zpsyzg2x8ev.jpg

9_zpsajso0noe.jpg

10_zpsc6ieehne.jpg

11_zpso8epq2nw.jpg

With the wheels now dry'ish - some mild weekly-use wheel cleaner for any remaining spots deep inside i'd missed or couldn't reach:

13_zps9cssiicw.jpg

And then a proper rinse to insure i was dirt / dust / mud free !

14_zpsqubhgyhy.jpg

At this point i "retired" for breakfast

12_zpsdb0fqngx.jpg

Suitably refreshed - i wacked some quality Shampoo in a bucket to ensure good lubrication and washed with a Micro-fibre mitt:

15_zpsouozgg35.jpg

And rinsed yet again...........

16_zpskwctqhsg.jpg

And by the look of the beading - i'm not going to bother waxing or even apply a QD gloss this time:

Good quality Microfibre drying cloth used - this is the bit i DON'T enjoy :-(

18_zps4n7folvi.jpg

Waffle towel for wheels only:

19_zpsx2xrjggn.jpg

4 and 1/2 hours of my life "gone"- but i do really enjoy it. In essence i'm finished. Just need to apply product to wheels, plastics, tyres etc now..

THANKS for looking. I'd better crack-on......

MERRY CHRISTMAS fellow Clio-freaks !

Yep, definitely the attention to detail that make this car one of the nicest on the forum :tonguewink: This would be an impressive level of cleaning on a car that was even 20% dirtier than yours Shuv! As my neighbour likes to say, 'You'll polish that away'

Good on you mate, the effort you put into it really shows.
