She's Dead

And only 6000miles on the clock. Most of which are done pootling around!

Met up with Arran today to show him the 200 and see if he wants to get rid of the vxr for one.

Went well, Arran seemed impressed but i think the Astra exceeds the clio in EVERY way...the money spent on it has been spent in the right areas f0 sh0!

Anywho, pootling home, go to change gear....clutch goes straight to the floor. Pull over, restart, did the same. Got out and looked underneath and there was fluid pouring out the gearbox bell housing.........slave cylinder has called it a day. Already!

Called renault assist at 9:15, he was with me by 10, i was at Smiths of peterborough by 11, courtesy car sorted by half past and im now home. Cant complain at that tbh!

Now gotta call Smiths in the morning and find out the verdict. This has really ticked me off. I used to nurse my 106 gti, never cained it, it caused me problems. Get rid of that, buy a brand new reliable car which has spent nearly all its life commuting too and from my point of lift share with the odd spirited drive. No way does it get used on track every other weekend like some on here and it does this?!?! And to think it was only an hour after me praising it for not causing me any problems since i picked it up last week of January

The dread curse of the Clio strikes again
Hope it's sorted soon mate

Not good news :worried:

By way of trying to cheer you up the wife once picked up a brand new Fiesta 1.25 (one of the first ones in the country).

Engine gave up on the way home it had done 21 miles (or something like that).

Car was replaced as Ford couldn't work out what went wrong (Ford as in the factory back in Spain where it was sent for inspection).

You just get the odd bad one - hopefully yours will be sorted and good as new

like i said on facebook its only a small component it could have been a faulty seal

id really also look at getting the clutch changed under warrenty too as the fluid will have soaked in and will eat the clutch plate

its propper bad luck though or not as that would have been really bad if it happened in europe, just hope its the last problem

When i got out of the car i was praying it was just a loose link on the pedal attaching it to the hydraulic system...my heart sank when i saw fluid pouring out the bottom!

Yea ill ask about the clutch being replaced also but the AA man recons they are designed so that if there was a fluid leak it shouldnt contaminate the plates...but ill try my luck.

As a colleague at work pointed out, 6 weeks ago i took my car into Wests about a "Braking Fault" that flagged up a couple of times in an evening. The car had logged no faults so they said see how it goes. Last night i learnt that the brake and clutch reservoir are the same and the car showed that message again...i wonder if it has been leaking for a while?!!"?!?!

Cor, if it had happened on the Ring it would have been more than just an inconvinience! Dont think id have been picked up, dropped off at Renault and home in a courtesy car within 3 hours!!

Andy, broke down out the back of the prison on the way from friday bridge....never seen so many cars and people out having a nose at the brand new car broken down :worried: My bright yellow clio must have looked funny being towed by a bright yellow transit haha

Ive always nursed my cars lol and still have problems.

I want a megane rs as a courtesy car! Mind you the 1.2 turbo clio isnt too shabby.

If it had happened last week mate you could have entered potm with the car on the recovery truck

Sorry about your car- it would have probably broke anyway no matter how you drive it-

Clio 200- Get in- drive it HARD get out- job done
