Servicing with warranty

my car has 16 months warranty left and isnt due a service till sept 2014 or 7000miles

i think that the service intervals are too long and prefer to service much more frequently


also as ive just bought it i want to go over it to make sure its ok and service it for peace of mind.




as the car has a warranty do i need to take it to renault or is it ok to;

A. do it myself (which i prefer)
B. take to an independent such as a bosch service centre or specialist. (so at least the book is stamped)


im pretty sure as long as a garage servicing the car is a proper outfit and parts used genuine or approved, then the warranty is still unaffected.

anyone any knowledge on this?

Nothing wrong with doing interim ones yourself though.

I took exception to the long service intervals too and mines been done every 12 months or 12k miles instead, along with multiple interim oil/filter changes done at an independant.

RENAULT can be funny at warranty time when service is not done by them but it is hit and miss just take your pick

Outside warranty they might be but in warranty they have no right to be, 3 replacement recaros covers and a gearbox later it caused be no issues getting stuff done.
