My dealer sent me a service plan for three years £595 thought this was expensive , what do you guys think?

is that for all three services? not really to bad considering the average service from dealers is over £200 for a basic service

well thats just oil, oil filter, air filter spark plugs, pollen filter etc could you not do those things yourself? i wouldnt even think about paying that for 3 basic services.

im not long after doing my 68000 mile service including cam belt and water pump, alternator belt pullys and tensioners, oil change oil filter, spark plugs. and it only cost me the price of the parts

With a new car thought FSH is always helpful, tbh I'd take it to a specialist as some (as proven on here) Renault dealers are monkeys. But £595 doesn't seem too bad for 3 years, think I paid £140 for a full health check and service from a Renault specialist

It's 3 services parts and labour.

a 197 i assume?

it depends on what services they are and what previous its had....

it might only be 3 oil and filter changes if you dont do much mileage

spark plugs go on mileage ie 36k distance

also look at the small print if that last service say falls on the 5th year will they do the 5yr/72k belt service....

I actually think that's not bad, always good to have dealer service history on newer cars,

You probably wouldn't even notice that money going over 3 years.

Well I've only got until April then my Renault warranty is up but I've had so many probs with my local Enfield Renault that lost all confidence in them . Funny thing is the service guy said that some customers expect there car to be treated with kit gloves but said you can't garantee it won't come back with a mark on it as after all it's in a garage to be fixed and marks do happen if I don't like take it to an independant . Great customer service :whatever:

i can understand the environment etc and things can happen, but your paying for a service not for some mechanic to marks and scratches down you car. sounds like a right bunch of cowboys

When at a dealers, if work was being carried out on a car, I'd expect the wing protector mats to be put on the car etc. or where ever they are working.

I'd expect no marks on a car while in having work done, and if it did, I'd refuse the car back.

all resonable care should be taken when in a workshop - seat covers/floor mats/wing covers etc

as for the £595 for 3 services....i would bank the money instead of letting them have it and get it serviced at either a good dealers or independant - even put say £20 month away to cover repairs/faults - that way it takes the pain out of the bills :bat:

good idea that

Yeah your right fox will just save the money and decide near time, I rang two techs in Dartford and the price for big service and two normal ones was £100 cheaper
