Seller wanting to save listing fees

Anyone had this before: bought on auction site, paid online, collected and the seller wants to cancel the transaction to save on listing fees? Dont know how it would effect me as I have the goods but seems dodgy!

It sounds reasonable, but I'd stay on the right side of ebay. If something's wrong with the product then you have no protection.

I did this when I sold my fish tank we agreed to cancel and I didn't pay the £90 fees and I let him have it for £30 less

Ok well I have until the 25th before it goes through automatically to make sure I get them checked over. Noticed a couple of "bubbles" on the alloys I bought, but I think it's surface rust that's been painted over.
Oh and below are the rims I've bought, just trying them on for size
