Rusty suspension....

Hi guys

painted my calipers yesterday, so first time I had the wheels off, and was surprised to see how rusty the suspension springs and actual legs are?

My car is a 56 plate, (november 06) and has only done 35Kmiles. Was quite surprised as my previous car was a 56plate passat estate with 85kmiles on, when I got rid of it, and it was like new.

Is this normal for these? I cleaned most of it off with a little wire brush, it all seems ok, just thought it was a bit odd. Round the bottom "cup" (that holds the spring) was terrible!

in short...yes they do seem to go rusty quick

i have cleaned mine and had a spray round with some black paint to stop it

Mines a 56 but no rust for me! Get bait of Hammerite in there maybe?

Hmm.. oh well. May be because it was sat round as its under average miles. Oh well.

I have a fair bit of rust on mines, but to be fair the sea is less than 300 yards from my house and sal****er just attacks it.

My cars origionally from Leeds, and it ended up in widnes where I bought it from. Dont think its been near the sea lol
