Right, time for an update. Lots has been done.
Had this dropped off to a Renault specialist at the beginning of July with a list of jobs I wanted done. A few more were found along the way!
First up the belts and water pump were replaced. Crankshaft pulley was looking a bit worn so decided to replace that. Unfortunately the radiator was found to have a leak when it got to the garage so new radiator was ordered and installed.
I had supplied Hel front and rear braided brake lines so these were installed along with some RBF660 fluid.
I knew there was at least one exhaust leak (flexi) and possibly another towards the rear when giving it to the garage which were both confirmed. The rear leak was due to a badly fitted joiner, so had that replaced. There was already an aftermarket header on it, which turned out to have a blown flexi. Instead of going for a repair, I just decided to buy new. Went with the Gravity one as they had a discount running at the time.
Added some Powerflex engine mounts to hopefully keep the exhaust intact for a while longer!
Couldn’t get an OEM gasket in time so went for what I believe is as good as…. Didn’t want to be using the one that came with the manifold as I’ve read they’re crap and don’t last long.
The garage informed me the wiper mechanism had also broken. Decided to sort that one myself. As you can see, it had completely snapped off on the drivers side. Ordered a replacement linkage and had it changed over in about 20 mins. Handy enough job. Drivers side drain was clogged so cleared that out and gave the area a quick clean.
New linkage
All done. Ready for the rain now!
I missed the last trackday in July cause of the parts I needed to order in. I’m booked in for the morning session this Friday in Mondello Park so looking forward to finally getting this out.
