Retro fitting dash display into 197

I was just wondering if it was possible to fit this set up into a 197?

That's what I thought. Though surely it would display everything else the normal display shows, just in colour with nicer controls.

Any reason why it wouldn't fit?

You can install it but it's a ball ache. Someone on here did it; there's a thread about it somewhere. It was about retrofitting satnav.

I did it, was a complete ball ache to be honest. Glad I did it though, I put the TomTom Live unit in mine and its great, plus I don't have to stick things to my windscreen now.

Unless you find one with a wiring loom, aerial and multimedia interface I wouldn't even bother.
