Removing Silencer on a 200?

Charged 80 so a bit more than usual but was an impulse buy! Ha! Ill try and get some photos when it's on stands at the weekend when I'm cleaning it! A flange either side with exhaust sealant foam on either end is the way he did it

Am away to get mine done also, does anyone know what the diameter of the exhaust is? my mates a welder so he was just gonnna weld a straight pipe replacing the silencer, but seeing your idea with flanges i may go down that route

i am tempted to get this done , take the sliencer out, just a bit concerned with having a flat spot after , is worth getting a remap after , please bear with me , am kinda new to this ;/

Flat spot is only noticable if you're in the wrong gear or driving like a lemon.

I've had my silencer out for a while now, sounds nice.

Not sure about the driving like a lemon comment as I find mine extremely noticeable now compared to standard, appreciate you shouldn't be flat footed an should be gradual on the throttle etc but most people I know don't have track training and just lash it straight down! Mine bunny hops more now between 2-3k revs, not all the time just occasionally.

had mine done the other day , no probs at all , well worth the 30 quid ( mate makes exhausts ) and a mess about in his cosworth powered mk1 escort too , flat spot not really noticeable to be honest .

well had quote today to do mine but flange it like Ian's... 200 quid .. Think may do it myself! lol

Anyone else done there own?

Measured the original diameter and got two measurement's of 56 and 58 mm either side the silencer. So all need is 60mm pipe with thickness of 1.5 -2mm and some mickalor claps , exhaust sealant and away we go.
