Removing front seat belts

Hi All, hoping for some help please. I was looking to remove the front seat belts at the weekend and came stuck at the plug in the picture. Does anyone know how to release this? i tried a few things but did not want to risk damage.

I accidentally snapped off the red part of the connector and took it out but it doesn't seem to have done anything. it still won't budge. :censored:

I just want to put in the new seatbelts! :disappointed:
