question about clios

so was just thinking about this so thought i would ask

so the 200 clio gets called a x85
f1 197 gets called a r27

so what is the normal 197 (non f1) get called ?

All the mk3 Renaultsport clios are called x85

the F1 197 version was called r27 for which I’m sure there’s a reason very similarly to how the mk2 megane 225 f1 was called the r26

The R26 and R27 are the designations of the Renault Formula 1 racecars for 2006 and 2007 respectively. It's about the same with the Red Bull editions RB7 and RB8.
