Problem after Problem! :(

Just picked the box up - dedication...the guy stayed in his workshop till 10pm
to sort it! I know where I'll be going for any welding or fabrication in future.

Pictures of the repair are below (apologies for the bad quality but it's dark and the flash reflects a lot!):

Renault have said they wont have time tomorrow even if I drop the box up at 8am as its a 7 hour job? ...so it will be ready on Monday.

Shame as I was hoping to get it down to Trax...still will be attending though just won't have my car on a stand :worried:

I couldn't of asked for a better job - in total it cost £40.00 and for the guy to stay over until 10PM to make sure the box was done in time for tomorrow was just dedication!

Yeah sounds about right, it's not an easy job. If you have it on Monday and fancy showing it off, there is a W.Mids meet that Tom on here is organising. Even if you don't have it by then, you won't be the only one not in an RS lol!

Glad you seem to have things sorted.

I'd only make one recommendation, find yourself either a friendly local garage or an independent specialist and stick with them, some of those early bills could have been a lot less. Renault must charge a fortune per hour for labour and 7 hours to put your gearbox BACK IN? that's taking the piss.

100% agreement there!!!!!

Heya 930 ...yeah I believe there labour is around £54-56 an hour or something daft after working it out!

I have already said it won't ever be going back to Renault and I shall look for a decent Specialist that doesn't charge made up prices like Renault do aha

four ashes renault just down the a5 from cannock get my vote, used them a few times.

So today was the day...or so I thought!

Spoke to Renault today who said my car was waiting to be road tested then they were gonna valet it as its covered in dust from being in the workshop for 6 weeks.

I then get a call back to say my wheels wont move - turns out they have fitted the wrong driveshaft and the new one is going to take a few weeks as its on back order!

Instead I have had mine sent off to be reconditoned and hopefully it will be back to them tomorrow.

On the bright side Renault have offered to contribute £550.00 towards the final bill due to all the messing around!

to be fair it aint the first time ive heard that the wrong driveshafts have been sent out to a dealership

Finally got my car back!!

However when I picked it up I literally just drove it home and then by the time I left work it was dark (12 hour shifts FTL)

Managed to have a proper look round the car yesterday, and this is what I noticed...

I didn't notice it before as when I got to Renault it was being jet washed...and then conveniently parked nose first into a bush.

This wasn't there when the car went in 6 weeks ago, I got straight on the phone to the garage who said it couldn't possibly be them as they don't use any chemicals that would strip lacquer...but a numpty with a jetwash I am sure could strip the lacquer off?

Its my word vs theirs as RUK said they can't get involved as its not a mechanical problem and its the garage at fault rather than renault?!

Looking around I am looking at around £200-300 to get the bumper sprayed.

Any advice welcome!

Jesus, Friday 13th eyyyyy. Some cars are just cursed.

take it back and park it blocking the main entrance lol
