Pre cat decat with new MOT rules?

Alright I'f I decanted the ore cat but left the main cat in would this still pass the mot's as there still is a cat in ad would it pass emissions? Cheers

New MOT regs for 2012 state that a missing cat is a failure even if it still passes the emissions test.

If you do a nice enough job with the welding then they should have no reason to ever know one was there?

Yea that's the thing though isnt it the clio has 2 cats realistically..

You'd have to find a strict tester to fail it on those grounds even if it does pass the emissions, but then again they are out there!

I'd rather remove the 2nd cat as its much easier/cheaper to replace if needs be and the car still passes emissions with just primary ( barely ).

But will that go down as a fail because ye main cat is out or do you guys recon I should to garage and ask for clear up then I'll let you guys know?
