poor wheel painting by renault

Hi all has any1 ever took a good look at there clio 200 wheels not the speedlines the other ones and in grey. there are shocking and as my clio is only 4 weeks old i had to get my self down renault and kick of. so i went to renault the day and kicked of like u do and there said there wil powder coat them for free result and i even managed to get them gloss black to. so if any1 else has this problem get yourself down to renault and get them painted for free

I had the same problem but they fobbed me off and said that wheels weren't covered under warranty...

Thats why I hate Renault Bolton

I know that now from reading up about it but its too late cause I paid to get all 4 refurbished myself. They tried blaming it on alloy wheel cleaner and said that they would not sort them.

They are like that with everything. I am currently having problems with a window seal that had split and they replaced it a few months ago before the warranty ran out. Funnily enough it fell off the the very sameday and they had to sort it again. Now a couple of months later its hanging off and my car is out of warranty. Regardless of the warranty I would of thought they would guarantee there work for at least 12 months but they are saying that I have to pay for the work. They even said that they are using a new and better adhesive so it won't fall off again which is more than an admission of fault on there behalf. I think its bang out of order that yet again they expect me to pay for there failings.

If they're 'one of those dealers' it might be worth posting you're experience/experiences over on the renaultsport forum.
It's read by people from RUK and they'd probably take an interest in such a shoddy states of customer care.

Just to note I had a wheel replaced rather than have it refurbed under warranty, I can imagine the actual cost to renault being similar or insignificantly different. I'd speak to them about both problems even though you've already sorted the wheels yourself.

I was told initially by Renault Cardiff that alloys were 'accessories' and not covered under warranty - total BS.

So I got on the blower to RUKCS and they soon put the dealer straight.

BUT.... the job they did on them was so poor I wish I hadn't bothered. The slight peeling and bubbling I had before was back within a month, ten times worse and the paint was just falling off whenever I washed them.

4,600 calls to CS later they gave me completely new 'accessories'. So good result but getting anything done under warranty with Renault is a stern test of perseverance.

The paintwork on mine isnt that great. Already a bit on the inside of one rim that is starting to bubble and peel off :S Also the paint kinda fades (if that makes sense) on the inside of the spokes and on the inner rim.
Ive noticed that the faces chip really easily. I had mine off the other week to clean them up and seal them, and the amount of chips on the spokes was beyond belief for a car with 3.5k miles on.
I might enquire about it, see if I can pay a small amount to upgrade to the sheeplines

Mine stonechipped very easily too.

Can't see sheeplines being any better.
