Pencil Coils

Car is playing up and I think it’s plugs and coils.
Car starts and drives ok but from time to time it’s very very hesitant and it misfires.

It’s still the OE pencil coils from new.
I’m going to doing the plugs so thought about doing the coils also.

There is loads online with 5 year warranty and it’s £30 for 4 of them or you look at the likes of Bosch and it’s £22 for one.

Does anyone know who the OE coils where made by and who has tried what coils that are decent.

When mine started misfiring I found and bought these on eBay,no problems so far.

I would not go mad guessing, genuine coils are 8200568671 I did get them as cheap as 24 euro each I think they are about 28 to 30 euro now

Oreca Motorsport sells NGK coils. I recall someone taking a car to the dyno with new green-top coils, only to replace them on the dyno due to poor performance. The issue was attributed to either bad contact with the plugs or faulty coils.

I replaced the coils on my 200 a couple of years ago with these Beru ones I ordered from Spareto, and have had zero issues with them:

I was looking at AutoDoc and the Beru ones are OE but there is two different codes.

BERU ZS052
&
BERU ZS055

Unsure what the difference is between them but there is also Bosch , NGK and Valeo coils available along with Delphi units.

I have no lights on the dash and not faults showing but I’m 99% it’s coils as plugs have been changed a few times in my ownership.
