Ollie's GW 200 Project

An update. As a lot of you know I like to buy something for the car and chop and change it, well it continues.

So, the start of February saw me heading to Shepton Mallet to have a look around the prison, well obviously being an hour up country from where I live, I took advantage to part ex the Corbeau RRS’s for something fixed for this season just to accommodate the harness instead of running them on recliners.

The replacements are much like marmite. I honesty can say they are a lot better than I thought they would be, they do flex in the base a tad but for the price, they will be ideal for now.

So that was the seat fiasco over. They looked great with the new cage I had recently had put in and felt great too. So over that weekend I headed to @Ollie930’s garage to get his splitter on and for Ollie to crack on with my MOTUL 600 fluid change.

Over much discussion about which cage he should get, in went 2 orders to Mark Fish for the Saftey Device R020. Unfortunately due to the weather the cage didn’t turn up on the week of the order.

So, the following week they turned up and we got them in! Boy am I happy! Originally I wanted to go for the white, but due to a 10 week lead, I’d rather the already in stock satin black. I can always get it sprayed up when the front half is ordered! 95% staying black though!

The more I see the satin black, the more I prefer it to the white.

Looks Sweet Dude! Id get a securing strap around that extinguisher, thats a lot of weight bouncing around the cabin if you crash and thats from Experience :disappointed:Its looking really smart though I'm loving the graphics.

Eventually got around to putting in the strapped extinguisher bracket, one of them jobs I couldn’t really be assed doing! Harness’ all adjusted to suit, and a good clean up throughout the interior after fitting the cage! Unfortunately the front half isn’t due into Mark Fish until the end part of May. So a little wait for that!

So, I was scrolling through eBay and came across another set of wheels I just couldn’t say no too. All will be revealed when they arrive, luckily had x6 wheels too which is a bonus!

brill update..you never disappoint..any track days lined up??
Thanks Pav, no UK ones as of yet, just the May trip to the Ring planned!

pretty sure you can get the harness buckle blanks like a rectangle off ebay so you don't have that bolt down part
This was something I was looking at but obviously haven’t looked hard enough, have you got a link? TIA!

And it continues... I know @Micah will be pleased!

A set of x6 17x8j OZ Superleggera, x4 of which are et35 and x2 et48 weighing at 7.2kg a corner.

Lucky find these, scrolling through the dark side of eBay under different PCD’s to come across this set listed as 4x108. Under further inspection seeing the listed picture was showing 5 stud wheels, I flung the seller a message in which he verified they were actually indeed 5x108.

Discontinued in 2006 to be followed by the Ultraleggera model. Not sure how many of these spec’d set of wheels are out there, but I got them for a steal!!!

Fantastic looking car mate!!!
Just out of interest how much did the cage set you back?
Im looking into cage options for mine but i use it every other day on the road too.

Great thread read!! :good:

Red! Isn’t ET35 a little to wide?

I have considered it! I tried a front one on as that was the main concern with width and seems to sit ok with the camber dialled in to scour 1.5. Will have to get rid of the PMS stub axles though!
I do have the higher offset ones to play with thankfully!

Thanks mate. The rear half cost roughly £580 all in. Me and a mate split the £60 delivery cost so saved £30 there. The build quality is excellent, you really couldn’t get better!

Mines a daily but I don’t worry!

Worth the money for the SD cage then Ollie? Think I may invest in a rear one..

You should go and order the front half of the cage, mark fish will be able to source it as well.

Anyone else, Full cage is around £850 from Mark Fish iirc and can be fitted without out welding, just drill plates, great quality and good fit, saved us when the car got written on at the Nurburgring.

I was planning to mate, not due back in stock ‘til end of May though unfortunately! How bad was your accident? Your not Lewis off Insta by any chance with the SG 200?

Just came back from 5 days at the Ring! This year was a lot better than last year as obviously I got to know the track a tad more. Managed a fairy decent lap which I was pleased with, still a lot of room for improvement though!

A quick stop in Belgium for a fill up

Going to be selling the x6 Superleggera’s as I want a similar daily setup as my track Speedlines!
