Where you having a Clio based crisis.....?
No, wanting another toy and running out of space as well as just helping out with a little with financing it.
Where you having a Clio based crisis.....?
well took the yellow peril for a MOT....and failed!. Which I knew it would but wanted to ascertain to what degree, results where interesting!
1) number plate light.....doh!
2) CAT not fitted. As originally installed. Which I knew it would.
3) CO high at 2500 revs.....mmmm!
4) Drivers seat not being able to move fore and aft as intended!.
Point 4 raised a debate. All be it I have a FIA race seat in and its more secure in this fixed state than a sliding mechanism. The tester was very sympathetic and would review this as the car is modified.
However now in limbo regards the CAT, as to whether :-
a) chop the akro and put a sports cat in.
b) just install the original middle section (cat & silencer) to get it through the test.
c) leave the akro and re-install the original manifold.......yet again having to drop that bloody subframe!
High CO was alarming..... need to check the MAP sensor and O2 sensor.
I would go B. What problems can it cause if you don't run a cat between mot's?
High CO was alarming..... need to check the MAP sensor and O2 sensor. Anybody recommend other than Fish Brothers (quoted £207 for both) supplier. Car as been mapped, showing no faults on the ODB2.
pleased too see your keeping it!!
is the exhaust well sealed?
WOW ! That's the way to do it....
How long to do all that so far ?
Well with no distractions and a full bank holiday to myself... a little more stripping..in readiness for it going to SW Motorsport for a full weld in cage
Started chopping out excess metal, a bit of spot welding and tidying to do on the near side rear arch....spot weld drill not big enough to take away all the spot weld and suffered a bit of tearing.
Slimming out on some wiring as well, airbags, pretensioners, speakers, boot light, boot wiring. Going to bypass out the airbags on the ecu, when the Renault clip turns up.
is the dash difficult to take out?
Nice to meet you today Ian, will be following the build from here on out mate!!
Yeh likewise, although as turned out even more expensive......heated front screen, lexan windows now on order as well as CF door cards, so the doors are now getting fully stripped out. Plus I got in touch with Mr Kool!
