Newbie sorry if been asked before.tyre size

Welcome :french:
You're pushing it with that width and that offset, those will stick out far too much.

they'll stick out a massive 54mm compared to stock wheels (7.5 inch wide and ET68).

9x17:

Sorry but it looks stupid and I can't imagine how you could drive that at anything like a decent speed without rubbing the arches. There are quite a few better (imo) wheels out there in the correct fitment.

Can you give me some advice please sean197 .
Would 8j be ok or best keeping to 7.5j
And also im running standard 7.5j 17s with 19mm spacers .
What et do i need to get with out using spacers .
Possible give me look of 25mm spacers max.
Is it a case of my current et is 68 - 20/25 mm
Im looking for off set 48 or 43 or 40.
Sorry dont mean to be a nob lol but aint got a clue

LOL you're not being a knob, don't worry about asking questions here, we're all very helpful!

8x17 is fine with an offset of between et68 (standard cup racer wheels) and et55 - 17x8 et55 is the fitment of the OZ Ultraleggera - @Pav get some pics of yours up

Have a look through this thread for ideas of what will fit - http://www.clio197.net/threads/the-definitive-what-wheels-thread.30946/
Any more questions, please feel free to ask!

Sorry for coming across defensive but getting slatted on facebook group even by moderators lol.
Guess thats what you get for been a newbie.
All im after is a set of alloys hopefully 8j that sit the same as my 7.5 x17 et 68 alloys running 20mm or 25 mm spacers.
So 8j what et so i dont need spacers .
Not sure if im coming across clear lol

Facebook is full of wankers, very different on here so don't worry about asking questions or not knowing!
Your 7.5x17 with 25mm spacers gives an effective offset of et43 (standard et68 +25mm spacers = et43).
Personally I'd go with 8x17 with an offset of et55, as per the OZ wheels, as they sit perfectly. I'll see if I can find pics for you.

Very helpful was expecting abuse lol.
Not the same people on here as facebook group then lol.
So 8j et43
Would 7.5j be the same et43?

LOL no abuse here:french::drunk:

If the 7.5j wheels has the standard offset i.e. et68, then yes 25mm spacers will give an offset of et43.
But they will stick out less than 8x17 with the same offset as they're .5inches narrower.

To work out the offset with 25mm spacers, find out the standard offset and subtract 25 e.g. et68+25mm spacers = et43.

Ok so put it in idiot terms for me please! Lol!
Et68 +25 spacers 17 x 7.5 j = et43
17x8j equivalent et with 25 spacers = et ?
17x7j equivalent et with 25 spacers = et ?
And what tyre size best for each size wheel .
sorry lmao

the offset will remain the same regardless of the width of the wheel. I would try to find a wheel that didn't need spacers as they affect the handling. so for a 7.5x17 wheel I wouldn't go lower than et45, and for an 8x17 wheel no lower than et55. I'd stay away from 7x17 as imo they're too narrow and look a bit funny from behind.

As for the tyre size, 215/45 r17 are fine for both widths, although some people run 225/45 r17 on both widths as they're slightly cheaper but the sidewall is slightly bigger.
