New Special Edition Clio RS18

Pretty weak considering it's celebrating 40 YEARS of F1..... can't help but think they could've done more than a few stickers, a number plaque and a different material on the steering wheel... guess they threw and Akra on it at least...

So some stickers and numbered plaques but no extra power or anything special to distinguish it from a regular clio sport. Just another r27 then. Yawn.

They must be having a laugh. What on earth is this and what is Renault Sport thinking? I know that R27 was not special but at least it had Recaros and cup chassis which were introduced for the first time on the mk3.

But this is even worse! An after market exhaust, alcantara steering wheel and decals? Blimey they are losing the plot.

Dosnt even come with recaros or brembo's.............

Not sure about the Recaros but from what I get Brembos never were an option for the 200T/220T. That's presumably why you don't see them now.

This new edition just carries the F1 heritage over from the R27 and RB7. The Mk IV never really was a hardcore sport hot hatch like at least some of the Mk III versions are. I haven't and wouldn't expect anything in that direction, really. That some "collection" editions would be released was to be expected as it was the case at the end of the Mk III production and I'm actually looking forward to possibly see one or two more.

Couldn't agree more. Was excited when I first seen the pictures then slowly realised it wasn't to get to excited about.
Not that I could afford a MK4, it's nice to see what and when they could come up with.
The no increase in power is also disappointing.

Pez

Mk III special editions never had "moaarrr power" than normal ones. So why should this one?

I know the whole R.S.16 not going to be produced thing sucks and the R.S.18 name surely cuts into this open wound but to carp about no power increase and things that also weren't available for earlier versions is a bit wrong IMO.

Btw, is "Storm Grey" a special colour or something official? If the latter what's the code for this colour?
