New Brakes Suggestions

After some brake advice, first track day at Snetterton last week in my new Meglio and the brakes were fading and juddering after less than ten minutes, the pads are decent Ferodo ds 1.11 (front) and DS2500 or the rear.

Not sure on the make of the discs and they don’t look great so going you change them first, before I order the popular Brembo HC any other suggestions.

Also, I would like to run some cooling ducts for the brakes, has anybody done this already, any info would be great.

A vote here for Brembo HC solid discs. Seen too many issues with drilled, slotted discs to deviate. I run PFC front pads, and with the HC discs the stopping power is immense, and doesn't fade all day when on track. Have the cheapest pads I can find for the back as the back brakes do F all on these cars.

I'd say change the discs for HC, change the fluid if you don't know it's history (perhaps splash out on some DOT5.1 as it's not much more expensive than 4.1), and as long as you're confident the ds pads are OK I'd say give it another try and see if there is an improvement.

If you look in the for sale section there is a wanted ad for brake ducts.

@trackspec197 is doing a group buy on the ducts so get your name on the list.

Also if you don't know how old your brake fluid is get some decent hi temp fluid in there as it will help massively.

I run brembo hc discs with ds1.11 front
Renault Oe discs with ds2500 rear
Motul rbf600 fluid.
No issues with fade or judder. Admittedly I’m not the harshest on brakes but that setup should be fine

I've got exactly the same setup on my meglio and booked onto oulton next month.
Last owner said his brake fluid boiled due to the turbo being so close to the brake fluid res. He upgraded to 5.1 racing fluid and said it was fine after.

I thought 5.1 was frowned upon for some reason on these renaults?
