Hi all,
I've posted a few comments on here since joining but thought I should officially say hi....
I've been a big fan of the 197/200 for a long time and have had a hankering for that N/A scream since my Saxo days. As you can imagine at 28, life takes over and cars take less importance, however a promotion had led to an Area Manager role and thus the company covering my fuel costs :jump1: which has led to the purchase of my new R27.:jump1:
It seems a few people have migrated over from Saxo's/106's so I thought to start with I'd add a picture of the old warhorse (hopefully you can see the attachment!). This was running a 106 rallye engine (still a 1.6 8v but with 110bhp standard rather than 90) with Piper 285 cams (I think, it was 8 years ago), a remap, full 4 branch manifold and straight through Piper system, induction kit, lowered 80mm rear and 60mm front, BK racing alloys with Yokohama tyres, fully stripped interior with 2x Recaro racing buckets. All work was performed by Pug Performance in Alton, Hampshire. This little rocket put to shame a vast number of cars, including a friends Cooper S...
The 197 is completely standard at the moment aside from one silencer has been removed. I have also de-badged her this afternoon to clean up the rear end (although I have opted to keep the Renaultsport badge at the moment). I am waiting to put my private plate on and then look at some work in the new year such as exhaust, 64mm TB, remap etc. The car was purchased from a small garage in Sussex that didn't really know what they had! Hence me getting a fully loaded ex demo R27 for only £5500! Bargain..
My fiancee and I are getting married next year plus I have a 1 year old so budgets are tight at the moment however this will be getting some love in time
I hope you like the pics/car and any help would be greatly appreciated in pointing me in the right direction for upgrades etc..
