My New Man Cave

Well, its been a busy old week. We just moved house again, in order to move closer to work (within 5 minutes walking distance) to take the mileage off our car and so that we can get back to the dog at lunchtimes to let her out and save money on buying lunches at work, or driving to subway each day. Packed lunches are a pita, so we dont tend to bother.

Finally got round to starting to sort the garage out today, as it was very dusty, loads of leaves in it, spider webs, bits of old wood etc. All of which have needed a fair bit of work to start to clean up (also considering our house is still upside down on the inside with boxes everywhere).

Plans are to paint the garage floor as well. Also, i might slap some white matt paint on the walls in order to provide a bit more light. There is power to the garage as well as strip lighting. I have 3 double sockets around the man cave.

Here are the pics:

Excuse the crap iPhone pics. Was nearly dark and couldnt be bothered to get the camera. Spent another hour on the garage this evening after spending a couple of hours on the garden last night. Starting to get there, nearly ready for its new resident now.

You might think they look the same as the previous pics, but ive spent a lot of time sorting things out, and the floor is still so very very dusty. I need a more powerful vacuum to be honest.

So the car is going from being stored here, in chavdom!!

To a nice cosy garage. It is no longer a daily driver either. Fun evening and weekends only from now on.

All you need now Deako is a deck chair, beer fridge and a space heater for the winter, then you can do what I do and sit and admire your pride and joy after you have just washed it, with a beer (even in winter) :tongueout:roud:

The simple things in life are always the best! :001_rolleyes:

Absolutely. But ill settle for a can of coke as i dont drink.

i love the title deako. "man cave" its so true. we all need 1 of these.

Its 8:15pm and im urging to start painting the walls in the garage. They need doing with an emulsion (not necessarily masonry paint, as they are internal) as it will help to keep the dust down in there. My wife thinks im mental, and is telling me i cant. LOL.

Then again, it will take several coats to get a good covering on the bricks. I can feel my shoulders aching already.

ha ha get out the biggest paint brush u can find. . . . . . i would go 1 step further and dot and dab it . . . .. . ultimate man cave

Nice dude, you want to to what I have done, carpet tiles on the garage floor!

Its too uneven for that, and also, i want to be able to bring the car back into the garage dripping a bit from cleaning, so that i can do all the finishing in the garage. :thumbup1:

I'd recommend a good masonry paint deako. Just because it would stand up better to the damp and cold
