My Albi R27 daily

Hi all, decided since I’ve been enjoying reading many other builds on here since lockdown and my 197 ownership its only fair i contribute.

So a little background. I have never owned anything but Japanese cars previously which were mostly starlets and this was my 8 year pride and joy i built into this 300bhp turbo converted uk spec SR..

It was awesome. However. With my new found extra power I started to get into track days to which seemed to create problem after problem.

Enough was enough after several engine builds and watching clio’s keep going round all day at different tracks the itch for a 197 and also a new daily was strong.
I started looking and instantly fancied an R27 in either blue with every option for the daily commute and odd track day.. ah.. i then realised how rare they actually was. After a couple of months looking i spotted a perfect spec Albi R27. A quick call and i drove it home the next day. Although far from perfect I was over the moon!

It needed a few things. Full service, blowing exhaust and a general big tidy up from being sat a few years drain holes blocked etc.

Ordered a cup kit right away and unfortunately only the splitter was available so still waiting on the rest.
Wheels needed tyres and a refurb so couldn’t resist these Autecs that came up and I painted the centre caps to look more oem.
A few other things so far have been a cat back resonated scorpion with k tec manifold and I also painted the interior trims going with an oem feel.

So here it is to now after many little tweeks/hours cleaning arch liners out ect plus a flat and machine polish its beginning to become the car i really wanted so i cannot wait to being able to use it again and book some track days in the near future. Thanks for reading!
