"Modified" eBay lower ball joint fell apart whilst fitting

Hi all


Just to "put it out there", anyone bought this modified lower ball joint from eBay?

The rubber boot itself is so big that there is no space to press it into the hub - the boot ended up splitting and some washer/shim underneath the boot fell out - garage ended up fitting an OEM one without any issues.

Should have just waited few more days and ordered the uprated lower balljoint from here. But no, my impatient ass and the absolute mess of a lower ball joint couldn't wait. By the way, the old ball joint was an absolute mess - more play than in an xxx movie.

Seller was also very helpful - NOT. When asked about a replacement/refund got literally a one word reply "NO"..... LOL

Did you use Paypal? If so then raised a complaint through them. The buyer always has the protection.

He did not want to put a lot of pressure on the joint itself. Not sure if that is safe or not. I’m no mechanic.
