No, I just wanted you to see what a huge difference it makes.

When driving with AC on with the alu pulley it feels like it's OFF compared with the stock.
There you can see the obvious benefits. Especially when AC off. It makes the car more responsive. I always wanted a lightweight flywheel to complement the pulley but never got to fitting it.
Eventually gave one to my friend.

I was going to do my rear brakes today but proved impossible to find a caliper rewind tool in my locale, apart from Halfords who wanted ~£35 for the privilege - no thanks! So I ordered one off Amazon which is coming tomorrow.
As it was a nice day, and the excitement of the meet next Sunday, I thought I'd tick a job off the list and get all the wheels off and give them a quick clean and a coating of Poorboys. All the winter crud is off and they now look very tasty indeed! I did managed to lose my grip on one of the wheels and it went spoke-down onto the edge of a brick, so now it's got a tiny scratch on it. I'm not overly bothered, nothing lasts forever!

I nearly dropped mine when doing the exact same job yesterday, whilst wheeling it to the grass! Did manage to catch it though. But as you said, nothing lasts forever, particularly wheels being so close to the road and all the grit, stones and everything else the road has!

Yeah, I sure did. I just rolled the wheel away whilst gently sobbing. It's still sitting there, taunting me every time I look out into the garden.

It's so tiny, it wasn't worth getting my knickers in a twist over. I did, however, notice how many swirl marks get onto the wheels. I shouldn't be surprised but it kind of helped me realise you can't wrap these things up in cotton wool forever, and damage does occur at every level.

Very good point. It is such a downer when you see even the smallest mark on the wheels or paintwork, but there is so many things out there that can cause damage and although you do everything you can to prevent it, there is always that possibility that something can happen. Like Clumsy McButterfingers dropping a wheel on a brick, or something equally as silly

As some of you already know, yesterday and today the car was in at Two Techs having the belts done and the lightweight crank pulley from @Raptor6767 fitted.
The night before it was due in, I realised I'd made a silly assumption that the belt kit from ALS Performance came with the crank stretch bolt. Cue a bit of a sleepless night and an anxious drive to Two Techs. They confirmed it was needed but ordered one in same day, so all ok! Sadly, it wasn't going to be ready the same day as work on a Megane 250 had overrun, but it meant I could go to some leaving drinks in the city (with a cool safe by the toilets you could look at!).
I left work early and got the train to Dartford, but as my connecting service to the next station overtook mine, I had a nice 25 minute uphill trek to the garage - quite enjoyed it really.
Cracking service from Terry and Matt, almost forgot my pin number but alas funds were released on the second attempt and off I went on my merry way. And then...
Well, not a lot really. I can feel the inertia difference in the pulley, but the car seemed really tight and not wanting to pick up a great deal of speed. For example, driving along the M2 at 70, drop a cog into 5th and it feels like it's holding back and didn't feel like I was getting any benefit. Most bizarre.
I really can't place it, and there are a few factors at play: I've got new trainers, so 'feel' through the pedal may be different. The belts have been done, and should it drive any different? The crank pulley, there's no reason why it would be this when it's meant to do the opposite. Wind, it was bloody windy on the roads, could I have been driving into a head wind? What I DID notice when trying to accelerate through the gears is that it feels quite smooth, but I'm expecting to pick up speed quicker. Compared to how I was driving it on Tuesday morning, it seemed more raw than it is now.
I popped the bonnet when I got home and had a look - nothing obvious, but the MAP (MAF??) sensor was very wobbly as it was pretty hot under there, though I couldn't prise it off. Could that have any negative effect?
Any thoughts or suggestions welcome!

Sorry to hear you're not completely happy with the outcome mate.
I wound some ptfe tape around my wobbly map sensor recently and it helped noticeably.
Bit of a coincidence that this has happened after you've been to a garage?? Think I put some photos in my thread.
You should do this regardless of what else you may find wrong imo

Sounds to me like you picked the car up late today and probably couldn't ring them by the time your were home because they were shut (?)

First thing i'd be doing is ringing them pronto to ask for any pointers, clues, tips or reasons for your concerns.
